Dr. Eric Anderson
Dr. Eric Anderson is a double board-certified interventional pain management physician. He previously practiced in Chicago, IL prior to moving back to Texas to be closer to family. He has been awarded several patient choice awards. Aside from the recognition, Dr. Anderson enjoys developing long-term relationships with his patients on their path to conquering their pain challenges.
Dr. Anderson completed his pain management fellowship at the prestigious Texas Tech University; one of the highest rated pain programs in the country. While there, he trained under world-renowned pain physicians Dr. Miles Day and Dr. Gabor Racz.
Dr. Anderson is educated and experienced in all aspects of pain management but has specialized expertise in advanced interventional pain and spine treatments. This includes: Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS), Dorsal Root Ganglion Stimulation (DRG), Peripheral Nerve Stimulation (PNS), SI Stabilization and Fusion (Posterior and lateral), Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression (MILD), The Racz Procedure (lysis of adhesions), and fracture repair through kyphoplasty/vertebral augmentation.
He is an active member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, Texas Medical Association, and the American Medical Association. He is active at both local and national levels in his field. He has served as Director at Large of the Illinois Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and has nationally served on the ASIPP board for Minimally Invasive Endoscopic Spine Surgery. More recently he is past President of the Denton County Medical Society and is active in the Texas Medical Association.
Active in research and publications, Dr. Anderson has been published and presented at both local and national meetings for the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS), and the Texas Pain Society. Most recent research involves being principal investigator on the effectiveness of Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) in non-surgical low back pain and the effectiveness of SCS in decreasing opioid usage among chronic pain patients. They are also performing active research on the effectiveness of sacroiliac (SI) stabilization for chronic sacroiliac (SI) pain. He enjoys researching various topics and he has special interest in discogenic back pain and the use of radiofrequency in the treatment of chronic craniofacial pain.
Dr. Anderson utilizes a multi-modal approach to pain management and believes that well-educated patients have the best chance for pain-free lifestyles. He consistently works to bring patients the education they need through therapies and programs implemented at the Advanced Pain Institute of Texas.
